Night shots

midnight moon
My internet connection is hell and reaking havoc on my business. It has been down for a month, but thankfully I am in relaxation mode. I am completely out of shape, lethargic and totally happy. I spent part of the long weekend up at a friends cabin and am totally in love wih the place. We basically had an entire lake to ourselves. I brought the rebel up and have finally tackeled some night shots. I have no idea what I am doing, but this shot was taken at midnight (no full moon). I kind of like this first effort and it is a nice rememberance to the weekend...... special.

I have been wondering lately who the heck visits this blog. Only five folks have the address, yet i'm getting billions of hits. Who the hell finds this that interesting? I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and spending time with the folks you care about around the water.

Fantastic shot, Lisa! The camera really picked up the detail in the dark foreground. Tue 15-Aug-2006 18:40

Oh I so need to get that camera. That's exactly the clarity I've been looking for. It's an expensive one, isn't it? Mon 28-Aug-2006 01:56

Now that's good eatin'

Cold Beer
Summer is in full swing - and even better, I am hours away from being finished all my work for the next 6 weeks. If feels great! I have lots to do to get ready for our big reno in September, but I find myself wandering out to the garden to play, or spending time on the bike. Yes, there is beer too. I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and this beautiful heat.

How does your garden grow?

Peonies
I rescued a languishing peonie bush from under our back steps when we moved into our house. This year it is flourishing in our front yard. The rain pounded it pretty hard this week, so I couldn't resist cutting these stems to enjoy them in my living room. I am loving the garden this year, however I could do without my crazy old Polish neighbour pouring bleach on my silverlace in the backyard. I am fighting the urge to go over and drive her plastic geese over the fench with Doug's driver.

Some days it is just hard to play nice.

It's so bloody hot here that only two of my four peony bushes bloomed this year. The bloomers were covered with tons flowers...all at the same time. I cut them all and took them to work and passed them around everyone's desks so we could all enjoy them. They lasted longer in vases than they would have in the garden. Smelled divine too.

What's up with bleach lady?

People I love

Husband
Daughter
Son
I have been bad (again) to update this. I am finally taking some time to organize some of my photos. I have been ignoring the computer for more important things, but i'm gonna spend some time this week at the screen. Thought I might start with the photos of the folks I have been busy with... my family.

Nice bling on Son! Tue 5-Dec-2006 16:58

My Cat, and other stuff

Amelia
This is my cat. I haven't posted in a while so I figured I would just throw something up so you all know I am still around. I have a million great photos to post, but they are all on my husband's computer because I am having some software issues and have yet to transfer them over. I promise better stuff than my cat very soon.

I have been busier than a hooker on dollar night these past months, but all with very good stuff so I won't complain about the hectic schedule. The god's are finally smiling on us. This time last year Doug was on death's doorstep and life seemed to be crashing around us. Amazing what 12 months can do. The kids are growing in leaps and bounds and everyone is healthy and thriving. Despite being crazy busy, there are no stresses (oh, until the final tax bill arrives of course!) We are just gonna try to ride this high through the summer....... for all of you out there who haven't seen us these past few months, I promise I will start planning my annual spring party at Casa Parkdale. Until then, hope you are all doing well.

Not My Van

Good Side
Bad Side
Couple of things.... i realized posting pictures of my supermodel daughter on the blog is probably not a very good idea. If you creepy bastards out there are looking for her, she's gone. It is a hard to see her growing up - but thank goodness she is still great.

This is a picture of a van we parked beside one night in the mall. As you can see, one side is in perfect shape. The other is completely smashed - I mean, someone really slammed them. Best part is, they appear to be still driving around in it. Broken glass and all! I wanted to wait around the mall to see who came out to drive it, but it was getting late.

Did I mention there is a child seat in the back?

Back To The Grind

Little Boats
We are back from Florida. It was difficult keeping the blog up as they were doing maintenance on fotopages. That and the fact that I was on the beach. We had a great time. No complaints. Good weather, good company. I could have done without the identity theft with my amex card - that put a krimp in my shopping, but hey, it happens! Back to very cold weather in Toronto and we have all started hacking and weezing again. But for 10 glorious days we were all healthy so we're gonna live off of that for the time being.

Came back to a ton of work - some really great jobs. Also, just heading out to register my very first construction lien against a client. A new frontier for me. I'll let you all know how it goes. I'm posting one of my favourite shots from our holiday. These are the little motorized boats Bobo was trying to drive at Busch Gardens. None of them worked properly, and his didn't even move. It didn't seem to matter. He's a happy kid!

Welcome Back, Glad to hear you all had a great trip and all is well, see you soon.
Awesome pictures, Max is so cute and Frankie WOW Beautiful ........Lisa !!!!!! OMG
love hugs and kisses

We have finally hit the beach. Day three. We are all a little crisp from yesterdays sun but having fun. I'm a little stiff from a very long run this morning. I may, or may not, be able to walk in the morning. Frankie friends finally arrived, so we are anticipated a fun-filled week.

Sunny Sunday

Flowers
The sun is flooding my backroom today, and earlier this week I spotted my daffodils poking out of my garden. I can taste spring!

I have the pleasure of waking up to this adorable mug every day of my life....... I would love to post more of Frankie, but she treats me like paparazzi these days - the only shots I can get of her have her holding her hand up to the camera lens. Sigh.

So maybe you should do a "talk to the hand" series... Sat 4-Mar-2006 04:24
